It seems like everyday there is a new healthy trend out there. We wanted to highlight a few of them that top level Silicon Valley CEO’s are doing. After all, they are making millions of dollars and help run some of the biggest companies in the world, they must be doing something right…

Salt Juice Water Every Morning?

Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey wakes up every morning drinking this interesting concoction. This drink is salt juice, which is a mixture of water, lemon, and Himalayan salt. The science behind it – Most people absolutely do not need to add extra salt to their diet (as you know). But Dorsey regular fasts which limits your intake of a lot of different elements to someones diet. So a lemon and salt drink could help you maintain the body’s physiological functions, like controlling blood volume and flow and maintaining nerve and muscle function.

As we have talked about many times in our past emails in our classes (I do this everyday) – Intermittent Fasting is a very popular trend for many years. Dorsey eats one time daily around 6:30pm and then he will have a desert of mixed berries or dark chocolate at 9pm. There are many different variations of fasting – this is something you need to experiment to see what variation (if any) work for you.

Keto Diet?

Yes, we know you’ve heard about the Keto Diet. It’s hard to avoid this trendy topic. But of course Silicon Valley has been all over this fad lately. The very low-carb, high-fat eating plan promises weight loss, more energy, and improved focus.The principles of keto are to increase your fat intake, limit the amount of carbohydrates you eat, and get a moderate amount of protein. Keto eaters maintain a strict limit of less than 50 grams of carbs per day. I personally am not the biggest fan of this diet because I feel like it is more for the short term. You can’t have a cheat day on this for it to be effective (and let’s be honest – we all need a cheat day here of there).

Bulletproof Coffee

If you know me – I’m a HUGEEEE fan of Bulletproof Coffee – I drink a cup of this every morning. This coffee is designed to boost your energy and focus + burn fat without the crash. The mixture of coffee, butter (ideally grass-fed), and MCT oil is believed to kick-start ketosis and allow the body to burn fat instead of sugar for energy. The drink is supposed to boost the metabolism, curb cravings, and provide energy and focus without the “crash” of caffeine alone.
